Recyclability And Material Compliance Of PP Sports Tiles
Public buyers increasingly ask for material declarations and an end-of-life plan. A single-polymer interlocking tile answers both more simply than a layered or mixed-material surface.
- Single-polymer PP construction
- RoHS / REACH documentation
- Repair instead of resurface
- End-of-life take-back options
One polymer, no bonded layers
MESKO panels are moulded from 100% virgin polypropylene, not a laminate of foam, rubber and adhesive. A single material stream is simpler to declare in a tender and simpler to route into a recycling stream at end of life. See PP vs PVC and rubber vs PP.
Compliance documents buyers ask for
Requests typically cover RoHS and REACH conformity, plus third-party test reports held on file by SGS. Ask for the current documents with the quotation rather than at acceptance stage, and keep them with the batch record. The tender specification guide lists the full document set.
Longer service through single-tile repair
The most sustainable surface is the one that stays in service. Because each panel unclips, a damaged or faded area can be replaced individually instead of resurfacing an entire court; keeping a spare allowance from the original batch preserves colour consistency. See seasonal maintenance.
UV life and end-of-life handling
UV stabilisation slows the fading and embrittlement that would otherwise shorten an outdoor court's life; see UV durability notes. At end of life, clean PP panels can be collected separately and regranulated where local recycling accepts rigid polypropylene. We can discuss take-back or consolidation options with distributors.

Frequently asked questions
Are the tiles made from recycled material?
MESKO panels are moulded from 100% virgin PP for consistent mechanical performance and colour; the panels themselves are recyclable at end of life.
Which compliance documents are available?
RoHS and REACH conformity plus third-party test reports held on file by SGS can be supplied with the quotation.
Does replacing one tile reduce waste?
Yes. Single-tile replacement avoids resurfacing a whole court and keeps the rest of the surface in service.
Can old panels be recycled locally?
Clean rigid PP is widely accepted by regranulation streams; availability depends on local collection, so we discuss take-back options with distributors.
