Container Loading Guide For Interlocking Court Tiles
Freight per square metre is a real part of your landed cost, so the container plan matters. Here is what determines how many panels fit, and how we build an exact packing list for every order.
- 20GP / 40GP / 40HQ planning
- Exact packing list per order
- Mixed colours and accessories
- Freight-efficient carton or pallet packing
Why loading density matters
Interlocking tiles are light but bulky. The cost that matters is not the weight of the panels but how much court area you can ship in one container. A well-planned order can materially reduce freight per square metre.
What determines the count
Four things: panel thickness (12.7 mm or 16 mm), panel footprint, the packing method (cartons or pallets), and the mix of colours, edge ramps and line-marking panels. We calculate from the approved layout drawing rather than a generic estimate.
20GP, 40GP or 40HQ
A 20GP suits a single court or a trial order; a 40HQ suits multi-court projects and distributors holding stock. Because tiles are volume-driven rather than weight-driven, the high-cube option is usually the better fit for full-court orders. Tell us your project size and we will show both plans side by side.
How we build your packing list
From the approved panel count we group panels by colour and type (field panels, edge pieces, ramps, line markers), then allocate cartons or pallets and issue a packing list with carton numbers. That same list is what your customs broker will use.
Mixed orders and spare panels
Most buyers add spare field panels (typically a small percentage for future repairs), plus extra edge ramps and line markers. Because panels clip in and out individually, a damaged tile can be replaced without lifting the whole court - see seasonal maintenance.

Frequently asked questions
How many square metres fit in a container?
It depends on panel thickness, packing method and the mix of accessories. We calculate the exact figure from your approved layout drawing and issue a packing list rather than quoting a generic number.
Should I choose 20GP or 40HQ?
A 20GP suits a single court or trial order; a 40HQ suits multi-court projects and stock orders. Tiles are volume-driven, so high-cube is usually better value for full-court orders.
Can I mix colours and edge ramps in one container?
Yes. Most orders combine field panels in several colours, edge ramps, line-marking panels and spare panels, all grouped in a numbered packing list.
Do you supply spare panels?
Yes, we recommend a small percentage of spare field panels so a damaged tile can be clipped out and replaced without lifting the surrounding court.
